Dr. Benoit is a Senior Research Fellow in Forest Products, specializing in wood science and sustainable materials. His research focuses on innovative uses of sustainably managed forest resources and agricultural byproducts to develop high-performance engineered wood and bio-composite products.

He works on advanced timber processing technologies, waste valorization, product performance evaluation, and sustainable value chains, including collaboration with Indigenous communities. Dr. Benoit has published over 90 scientific papers and has conducted research across Australia, Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
