Professor Dell has nearly 40 years of experience in Australia and the region in forest and agricultural crops. He has undertaken field trials with collaborators in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Professor Dell’s research interests have addressed silviculture, forest protection, reforestation, forest management, invasive species, climate change, and other fields. Regarding acacia plantations, he has broad experience in pest and disease management, mineral nutrition, and beneficial microbes. Through research and capacity building partnerships, he has trained 71 PhD students and mentored many early career researchers in developing their research careers. He has published numerous studies (Scopus 293 documents 8,971 citations; Google Scholar 20,672 citations) of which 46 address forestry related topics in Vietnam.
